Medical assistance for Turkey & Syria

Miles2Smile is delivering supplies to earthquake survivors in Turkiye and Syria through a coordinated effort with the government embassy and local collaborative partners. As of today, we have already dispatched two lots of the most essential relief supplies consisting of Thermal Tents, Sleeping bags, Inflatable Pillow, Long overcoats, Folding Chairs, Blankets, Shawls, Snow Boots, Baby Diapers, Sanitary Pads, Woolen mats, Baby feeding bottles, Thermos, and warm wearables. “Miles2Smile and its local collaborative partners are among the first responders to the urgent need arising in the disaster-hit regions.” According to officials, the earthquake and its aftershocks have left more than one million people on the streets in freezing temperatures. And ever since we saw the first picture of the tragic aftermath, our hearts go out to the people who have been affected by this deadly disaster. In light of our ongoing discussions with authorities and local partners regarding the nature of our support, we have been informed of an immediate need for generators and medical equipment by the consulate general of Turkiye since the Hospitals, and health facilities in the region are lacking the most essential items. The window of time to save lives is rapidly narrowing, so alongside the emergency response, we are activating another campaign to ensure continuity of care to the most vulnerable. “Not everyone can treat patients in the field. But everyone can do something”. Miles2Smile is ready to mobilize its emergency capacities, even though we are not working inside Türkiye & Syria. Unrestricted support from all of you will allow us to mobilize quickly and efficiently to provide lifesaving medical care to the people who need it most, whether those needs are in the spotlight or not. And your donations are tax-deductible as per 80(G)

Call for Donations- For earthquake survivors in Turkey

Since we received numerous requests from people asking if they could assist the survivors in earthquake hit Turkey, we have decided to communicate with the Turkish embassy and arrange for a fundraising campaign. Today, we found out that the Turkish embassy in Delhi released a message on their website saying it will collect blankets, clothes and other materials and fly them “in a speedy and prioritized manner” to Turkey. As a community, we felt it is our sacred obligation to extend support to all people who have survived this disaster. According to the reports from the region, close to 10,000 people have lost their lives and many are still under the rubble and are yet to be found. Thousands of people are homeless in cold weather conditions or they cannot enter their homes. Your urgent support and assistance to earthquake victims are very important and vital. Every Rupees counts and all donations will amplify the recovery efforts. Please help us spread the word. We are accepting donations both in cash and in kind to provide for the immediate needs of the hundreds of those families affected by the earthquakes in Turkey. Donate to restore the livelihood for Salim

Mohammad Salim is a resident of Mustafabad in North East Delhi. There are 6 members in his family including his wife and 4 kids. During the Delhi pogrom 2020, his shop was burnt along with the rented accommodation they were living in. Miles2Smile Foundation helped Salim in getting an accommodation along with all the household essential items while also ensuring the education of his kids through "Shaagird" Initiative. The Foundation also helped him in opening a grocery shop that Salim ran in the Covid-19 times. Since the last year, he is running a rented auto that is helping him earn a meager sum and he is barely able to sustain his family. The fear of not having any savings for any unforeseen event like the violence he saw, is filling him with anxiety. If the fundraise amount is reached, he will be able to make the down payment for the auto & will pay the rest over amount through EMIs.

Winter Drive for Madarsa Kids

Winter wishes: Donate for warm blankets & jackets to needy kids at our Madarsa at Delhi & Nuh As the harsh winters are fast approaching, we have initiated a donation drive to provide around two hundred blankets and jackets to the underprivileged students studying in our madarsas to protect them from the bitter cold. Any donation that you may find within your reach will allow us to better insulate and protect these underprivileged students who have to encounter severe winter weather every year. Donating good decent clothes- or even new clothes if you are in a position to donate- to those who need them is an act that Allah Subhan Wa Taala loves. Our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon him) has told us, "The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi) Donating clothes is one of the best forms of charity because it conceals and protects a person and preserves his or her dignity among the people. Your donation will ease their difficulty during the winter months and as Allah has promised everyone that reward for good is nothing but good. It’s been two years since the north east Delhi program victims suddenly found themselves living in the camps, unprotected and enduring the aftermath of brutal communal violence that they were suddenly made to face and they've been picking up the broken shards of their lives since then. And some of these Madarsa students belong to such victim families. The winter months for students coming from such families are more difficult to bear, they often find themselves in a bitter situation. Your contributions can help brave these children to encounter the winter season in some comfort. This way, even underprivileged children will be able to get through the months of cold weather the same way as the other children. And, as we give some woolen jackets & blankets to these students, it just makes everything perfect for them. It makes easy for them to withstand the weather. And that is the main goal of our giving; “to bring happiness to someone’s heart.” S.No Particulars Unit Price Total Price 1 Jacket 425 95200 2 Blanket 550 123200 Total 218400

Relief assistance to the family of Israel who died in police custody in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna

Relief Assistance For The Family of Israel, who succumbed to his injuries while in police custody in Guna Madhya Pradesh On Thursday, November 24, at around 10 pm, 30-year-old Israel died in police custody in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. He was detained by four station police officers while he was on his way to home from attending a 3 day ijtema (relegious congregation ceremony) in the outskirts of Bhopal city. Israel had bought clothes for his children on his return from Bhopal. He was a wage laborer and the sole bread earner in the family which comprised his father, wife, 3 daughters and 8-month-old son. They are all orphaned now. “Who’s going to provide for them” is the question that lingers with Israel’s father now. When a person dies, he can't be brought back. There is no alternative, no substitute. He is too old to ensure a good future for his grandchildren. Miles2Smile foundation is also heartbroken at this devastating act of hate and the non indemnified loss to his family. We understand that there is little we can do to ease the grief and trauma that Israel and his extended family are going through, but we planned to start this fundraising campaign to raise money for his wife and the orphaned children. If you’d like to help and donate, the money will be used for the same. This campaign is one of many ways Miles2Smile foundation wishes to support the family of Israel in the face of the hatred they have undeservedly received. Miles2Smile foundation has received direct permission and approval from Israel’s uncle Aslam Khan, and has also spoken to him and made him aware of this fundraising. The donations from this fundraiser will be considered for Israel’s kids (in the future) as well for immediate sustenance. Israel’s family members will make a final decision on the donation funds and where it will be going. Miles2SMile will soon release a financial statement letting everyone know.

Rebuilding livelihood for the victim families of Siwan violence 2022

Recently, during the Mahavir Akhara Rally in Barharia, Siwan, Hindu radicals launched a series of attacks on Muslim homes and businesses. We are raising this fund to help four victims who we have found to be the worst affected. Though the violence got some coverage in the media, not many know about the aftermath. The four victims who need our assistance have lost their businesses which served as their sole source of earning a living. They come from lower- to middle-class families. The sudden disruption of sources of their livelihood has made situations unbearable for their families. Miles2smile wants to lend a helping hand to all the four distressed families whose livelihoods have been severely harmed at the hands of violent Hindu mobs. The goal of this fundraiser is to disburse 4 lakhs to the four victims so that they can rebuild their businesses. Your generous contribution will help us achieve that goal. Let's contribute whatever we can for the cause. Name of the Victims: Sarwar Amir Alam Shabbir Quraishi Nasiruddin
